The idea behind this Instrumental Artwork was to bring about an awareness regarding the amount of species on our planet that is now extinct.
I also loved the early bluesmen that have passed away, who played all sorts of crazy tunes on a single string instrument, so i thought I would create a single string series of instrumental artworks with them in mind.
Over the many years man has co-existed with the inhabitants of this planet, an overwhelming number of species have become extinct because of mankind’s actions
A similar number of species now on the endangered list are also about to become extinct.
The times are changing for everyone and it is no longer acceptable for countries like Japan, Iceland and Norway to continue Whaling using archaic cultural customs, when the numbers of these species are at the point where extinction is a possibility.
Hunting the endangered “Big Five” species in Africa by the rich and ignorant should be completely abolished before those species become extinct as well.
You are not hunting an animal, no matter where you are when you have the latest high-powered weapons with the largest telescopic sights on these weapons.
This is murder, not hunting and it has to stop on a global scale agreed by all countries and cultures.
The Zoo is not the place to see animals. There are too many cases of animal cruelty and confinement already documented to consider any Zoo as an animal sanctuary.
This unacceptable inhumane treatment of endangered Animals is not the way in which we would want our grandchildren to see what is left of a species either.
Animals should be seen in their own environment, and it is up to us to provide this environment to them, at our own cost not the animals.
It is time for man to consider the “One World” as including everyone, not just one species, and offer fair representation to those species that can’t represent themselves.
