This Instrumental artwork took shape from a series of meditations I had regarding the duality of Yin and Yang and how opposites complement each other. Each opposite is necessary to give meaning to the other.
In the images depicting Yin and Yang, there is a circular drawing with the colours of black and white neatly nestled beside each other to make up the circular image as a whole.
Inside each colour is a tiny circle of the opposite colour.
When I looked at ways for raising mankind’s level of consciousness towards the environmental issues troubling our planet, I noticed that the duality of good and bad would always exist, and in fact they complemented each other.
It would be naive of me to think I could eradicate the bad and leave only the good, because the good is what the bad learns from, and the bad is what the good works on.
I put together this Instrumental Artwork with the black and white theme as my Yin and Yang elements.
The black box needs a white neck to work.
A black and white Humbucker pickup side by side becomes one unit, and what better to round out the theme as a whole, than to have the pirate skull and crossbones flag and pirate ship headstock design to bring to life the struggle between the two opposites.
