CIGAR BOX GUITARS / CBGS

FULL MOON BURNS

I put together this instrumental Artwork using a series of casual objects I had picked up when researching cigarbox guitars.

In the late 1800s’ and on through the 1900s’ Householders were responsible for their own rubbish, as a result of this, bottles and other large items were buried on the back part of their sections.

I have an old property and when I was digging a new fence on the back boundary, I uncovered a vintage 1900s’ Morses Indian Root Pills Bottle.

I had a thin off cut of Mahogany wood, a rectangle box and a Fender Stratocaster pickup that all came together to make this classically cool Diddley Bow.

It had taken over one Hundred years for the Old bottle I had dug from the backyard to be upcycled into a magnificent bridge for this instrumental artwork. Now the bottle begins a new life in a Cigarbox Guitar that will keep it out of the waste cycle for another lifetime.
