The instrumental art piece Postnote was the fourth guitar I made. I had spent six months in research mode before I started to put together the physical side to my exhibition. I realized then how important and dependent I was to become on the mailman for the delivery of material i had ordered from overseas.
The post gave me the realization of how important lines of communication and trust were in building anything of worth.
This was to become a two year project and an integral link in the chain of success was the post. I have spent many a happy moment in the last two years waiting by the mailbox wondering what item was going to be delivered on that day.
Even though the postman changed into the post lady halfway through my two year journey of creation, the delivery of the message never altered. The pleasure i received from seeing the postman, knowing they had something i needed to beautify my artworks made more tolerable the bills and other mail also delivered that was not in my interest.
To build something of lasting importance and instill a greater level of awareness of the environmental issues that need addressing in todays society, you need the ability to establish an open line of communication and trust. This is the foundation on which you can make a change for the better and build lasting creations of future worth.
